Risk Analysis Using Crystal Ball®, a multimedia training CD, is an excellent interactive way to learn Crystal Ball.

The course is modular and easily navigated so that you can learn at your own pace. The units include software tips and application ideas, as well as periodic tests and exercises to help solidify the concepts.

We have created this course in partnership with Dr. John M. Charnes, professor at the University of Kansas School of Business. The training concepts and materials are based on the regular risk analysis training courses taught by Decisioneering and Dr. Charnes and are intended for a general audience.

cd"Excellent design for learning. I liked the easy integration with the exercises, and the quizzes, which tested and reinforce what you learned."

-- Ricardo Gonzalez, Professor of Radiological Sciences, UPR School of Medicine

Who developed this course?

We have created this course in partnership with Dr. John M. Charnes, professor at the University of Kansas School of Business. The training concepts and materials are based on the regular risk analysis training courses taught by Decisioneering and Dr. Charnes and are intended for a general audience.

  1. Welcome (how to use)
  2. Getting Started (toolbar, how to run, what a simulation looks like)

How does this CD differ from the introductory training course?

The CD contains a significant portion of our Crystal Ball training course, in addition to many extra tips and methods not covered in the course. The CD lets you learn the material in an interactive, self-paced environment. You can repeat and review any module whenever you wish.

How long does the course take?

We estimate that you can complete this course at a relaxed pace in two or three days. The time required to complete the training CD depends on the speed with which you learn and on your familiarity with Crystal Ball. The training is modular, allowing you to move at your own pace and to study whichever units appeal to you.

Is there an evaluation version I can try?

We have an evaluation version available that contains Units 1 and 4 and demonstrates the format and style of the training CD.

What are the system requirements?

The electronic training course is a multimedia presentation that requires the minimum following software and hardware:

  • Windows® 2000 or later operating system
  • Microsoft® Excel 2000 or later
  • Crystal Ball 7 Standard Edition or later
  • Sound card and speakers
  • CD-ROM Drive 2X
  • 256-color monitor
  • Single-processor machine
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 (free form Adobe: www.adobe.com)

Note: You will need to turn off large or extra large fonts in your display > appearance settings or the text will be too large for the screen on certain slides.

Will the training material take up much room on my hard drive?

No. The material will only use about 1MB of hard drive space since you will run the program off of the CD.

What types of licenses are available?

Each training CD is a single-installation license. We also offer multiple-user and corporate licensing. Contact our sales department for more information about multiple-user and corporate licensing.

Is a sound card required for this training CD?

Decisioneering strongly suggests that users of this CD have a sound card on their computer. Each training unit contains short introductory movies and audio tips, therefore, lack of a sound card means that you will not be able to hear these media pieces. While you can certainly run much of the CD without a sound card, you will not receive the full benefit of the training, which was designed as a multimedia presentation.

Does Crystal Ball need to be installed on my computer?

Yes. You will not be able to run the training without a current version of Crystal Ball 7

What version of Crystal Ball do I need?

You will need Crystal Ball 7 or later to run this CD. The CD has been developed using version 7 and the functions available in this version have been included.

Is the CD compatible with foreign language versions of Excel and Windows?

The Training CD was developed for the English language versions of Excel and Windows. We
do not guarantee the compatibility of the Training CD with any other language versions.

Does the CD come with a manual?

No. The comprehensive CD does not require a manual.

Is there academic pricing for the training CD?

Yes. Visit our academic pricing page for more information.
